Theme: Precious metals

Many types of metal are used in electronic products, the most common being iron. However, some of the metals are more problematic than others. This applies, for example, to the so-called rare earth metals REE (Rare Earth Elements) which are only available in small quantities and which have very specific properties that are sought after in electronics. But also other relatively rare metals such as gold, tin and lithium cause problems both during mining and when they are to be recycled. From a recycling point of view, metals are good because they do not lose any properties, provided you manage to get the raw material really clean.
